On April 27, exhibition “Jasenovac/Donja Gradina” was opened at “Manyezh” in Sankt Petersburg. The exhibition is made of photographs and documents, and its author is Simo Brdar. Mr. Brdar also lectured about Jasenovac at St. Petersburg’s State University.

Established in Banja Luka on December 25, 2009 under the nae “Jadovno 1941”, Association of Descendants and Supporters of Victims of Ustashian Concentration Camps in Jadovno was promoted in Press Centre of Hotel Bosna in Banja Luka wit participation of Bishop Atanasije Jevtic. Since then, the Association developed lively activity.

At the May sesion of the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church feast of the New-Martyrs of Jasenovac was established on August 31/September 13.  [More »]

On April 5, 2010, a donner dinner was held in Republika Srpska (Bosnia & Herzegovina) town Višegrad with an aim to collect means for building of an memorial chapel to the victims of Ustaši massacre in the townlet of Stari Brod at the riverbank of Drina in 1942. The dinner was attented by both clergy of the Serbian Orthodox Church and prominent personalties from public life and the industry.

Higher Court in Belgrade issued an arrest warrant for Peter Egner, ethnic German accused for war crimes in Belgrade during the Second World War. [More »]

Službeni glasnik from Belgrade published at the end of 2009 a book by Jaša Almuli “Jews and Serbs in Jasenovac”. Book was presented already twice in Belgrade – at Kolarac’s Popular University and at the Faculty of Law; promotion at in Banja Luka in Republika Srpska is following.

David Bankier, who helped expand the contours of Holocaust research by examining the participation of ordinary Europeans in the extermination of their Jewish neighbors, died over the weekend after a long illness, Yad Vashem, the Jerusalem Holocaust center, announced. He was 63. [More »]

One-day seminar on Holocaust education for faculty of the Serbian Orthodox theological colleges was held at the Belgrade synagogue on February, 2. Lecturers and participants were greeted by Irena Soldat-Vujanović, Assistant Minister for Culture in the Ministry of Education and Culture in Republic of Srpska and Rabbi Isaak Asiel. Opening lecture was given by H.E. Arthur Koll, Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Republic of Serbia. [More »]
