Current Religious/Political Problems
There are many issues and problems when it comes to religious
and political affairs that are happening in Jerusalem.
Through thousands of years of war and very little peace,
Jerusalem still fights today to maintain some sort of
peace but it still hasn't happen and it just may never
happen.
The biggest issue that is faced in Jerusalem is the fight
for religion. The city holds three of the world's most
known religions within its walls and every religion wants
to the holiest city in the world to themselves, however,
they must all share and many religions do not like the
idea of that.
While three religions remain within the walls of Jerusalem,
the city will forever be contested.
Judaism
For this religion, history states that they city has been
holy since King David established the city in 1004 BC
and that his son Solomon built the Temple Mount for the
final resting place of the Ark of Covenant and a place
for Jews to pray.
Christianity
For this religion, history states that the city has been
holy since Jesus Christ was crucified in 30 BC. It is
also said that 300 years later, Saint Helena identified
the pilgrimage sites of Jesus' life.
Islam
For this religion, history states that the city had been
holy since Mohammed made his ascension into Heaven.
Jerusalem is continuously fought over and many people
still die today in Jerusalem and other places in the world
over the fight for religion.
